Custom fibre blends for brushes
Fibre blends combine materials with different characteristics to achieve the required performance in the finished brush in terms of stiffness, elasticity, strength and smooth feeding.
A.S.&C. develops and supplies custom brush fibre mixtures and blends using natural and synthetic fibres, tailored to the application, the characteristics required by the customer and the manufacturing process.
Compositions can be defined according to technical specifications or developed from a reference sample supplied by the customer, with the aim of obtaining a blend with characteristics as close as possible to the reference material.

Natural fibres
Horsehair, cattle hair, goat hair, Tampico and other natural fibres can be selected and combined according to the required stiffness and other performance characteristics.
Synthetic fibres
PPN, PVC, PET, Nylon and other filaments can be incorporated into blends to modify stiffness, elasticity, strength and material behaviour.
Combinations
Natural and synthetic fibres can be combined in different proportions to achieve the required brush performance and a blend suitable for the manufacturing process.
Horsehair and Tampico blends
Available combinations include horsehair and Tampico blends, used in the manufacture of different types of professional and industrial brushes.
By varying the proportion of the two fibres, the characteristics of the blend can be modified to achieve different levels of stiffness, elasticity and flexibility according to the application.
The composition can be evaluated according to the type of brush, the surface on which it will be used and the action required from the finished product.
From reference sample to custom blend
When a customer already has a blend with satisfactory characteristics, the material can be used as a reference for developing a new composition.
The reference sample makes it possible to evaluate the types of fibres present, their proportions and the general characteristics of the blend in order to identify a technically suitable solution for the application.
This approach is particularly useful when a complete technical specification is not available or when the objective is to reproduce the performance of a blend already used in the manufacturing process.
Paraguayan horsehair for professional blends
Among the raw materials available for preparing blends is Paraguayan horsehair, particularly valued for its stiffness, cleanliness, smooth feeding and fibre consistency.
The material can be prepared according to the customer's requirements and combined with other natural or synthetic fibres to achieve different levels of stiffness and brush performance.
